This channel is devoted to everyone who loves old cars that they once owned from the 80s to 2000s.
Here’s how the Integra was Acura's first, and possibly last sportback
In this episode I provide the history of the Acura Integra, which along with the Legend were Acura's first models when the brand launched in North America in 1986. Initially available as a 3-door or 5-door hatchback, it would later lose the 5-door, but then become more popular thanks to its GS-R trim in 1993, and the Type R in 1997. It also gained fame as one of the stars of the first Fast and Furious movie. But in 2002, Acura re-did their model names and changed the Integra to the RSX, and sales dropped with sportback models losing popularity, ending in 2006. Acura brought back the Integra name in 2022 as a 5-door sportback.

Here's how the Aries and Reliant K-cars brought Chrysler back from the dead
Переглядів 37 тис.21 день тому
In this episode I provide the history of the Dodge Aries and Plymouth Reliant, the first cars sold by Chrysler under their K-car platform. Chrysler nearly went bankrupt in 1978, but with new CEO Lee Iacocca's plea to the U.S. government for a bailout, they had enough money to release their K-car line, a very basic set of coupes, sedans, and wagons that were very cheap and simple in design, yet ...
Here’s how the Chevy Avalanche and Cadillac Escalade EXT could be converted into “Super SUV”s
Переглядів 59 тис.Місяць тому
In this episode I provide the history of the Chevrolet Avalanche and its unexpected Cadillac twin, the Escalade EXT. Both pickup trucks started in the 2002 model year, and were based on the Chevy Suburban platform, and had a "midgate" between the bed and cab that allowed for the bed to be extended into the cab, but could remain fully enclosed with its removable bed cover. Despite lower sales an...

Here’s how the 929 became Mazda’s forgotten luxury car
Переглядів 47 тис.2 місяці тому
In this episode I provide the history of the Mazda 929, Mazda's first attempt at a luxury car for the North American market. When it reached this market in 1988, the styling was very boxy 80s, but still very boring, and few people associated Mazda with luxury car, instead Mazda was better known for economy and sports cars. An all-new model was introduced for 1992, and was more typical of the 90...
Here’s why the Ford Excursion was the right truck at the wrong time
Переглядів 52 тис.2 місяці тому
In this episode I provide the history of the Ford Excursion, considered the largest mass-produced SUV at the time. It was based on the Ford Super Duty truck lineup that had been redesigned for 1998. The Excursion was immediately panned by critics for being unsafe and wasteful, so much so that after 69,000 sold in its first year of sales for the 2000 model year, sales dropped significantly each ...
Here’s how the Pontiac Aztek was the result of GM’s “more innovation” plan
Переглядів 41 тис.2 місяці тому
In this episode I provide the history of the Pontiac Aztek, probably the most infamous Pontiac model ever produced. Desperate to move away from their boring car image, the 2001 Aztek was GM's first crossover, and had so many unique features aimed at young active lifestyle buyers. But GM forced the designers to build off their existing minivan platform, resulting in a tall boxy shape with the mo...

In this episode I provide my picks for the top 10 worst examples of automakers taking a car from a subsidiary or rival-turned-partner, and creating a new car on the cheap with a new brand. n each of these case, most of the buying public saw right though the deception, and poor sales was the ultimate result.

Resale on a Taurus was dismal. Trade value was worse!
Isuzu Impulse, Suzuki Sidekick

I liked the Bustleback Seville when it came out, and I still like it now...
Rs was the bottom trim level on the 3rd gen.
I loved the Del Sol. Awesome name and great looking!
Holden should have had a model called the Caulfield.
GM: Generic Motors or Get Mechanic
The 3rd gen Town Car still looks classy to this day
Chrysler built better looking cars than GMA and Ford
Just bought an aura with 65k miles on it.
GM - government motors, but now going the way of Sears
We always looked at the corvair as a dune buggy.. pretty much like a VW
now i remember why i stopped watch auto history videos: a bunch of angry grandpas upset that what was common in their youth isn’t acceptable today
I had a '84 Excel around '01 or so. So underpowered and it didn't even have power steering or brake cylinder! 😂 Thing leaked oil like a sieve but couldn't be killed. We tried like heck! Wish I could say it was a fun, little backup vehicle, but it was a vehicle, and that's about it! Just remembered that I only paid $300 for the thing & didn't drop a dime into it. Beat on it for a year and a half or so, guess it wasn't that bad.. 😂
Nem todos ruins
The Alliance and Encore were much better cars than the POS Ford Escort.
I recall that the Honda Passport deal included Honda providing the Honda 3.0L V6 engine to GM products.
The Pontiac can am is still a mysterious edition that I think you would have fun with.....
2:54 Their sunglasses resemble Tom CRUISE (VANILLA SKY)
4:17
The engine idling during the intro sounds like a early to mid 80's Mercedes Benz Diesel.
If you like weird cars, how about the Infiniti FX45
how about the Nissan Stanza
I own two towncars 1989 and 1997, they both run and dive with less than 90K
Getting closer Still waiting for the CRX episode!
Honda insight 2000
Where in this line up did the Adobe place?
It’s ugly never liked them
I love the bug eye look of the US integra. i thought it made it look more exciting
😅About the only detail left out was the unusually long lifespan of the 3rd gen Integra, which usually would be completely redesigned after 4 years, but instead got a very mild facelift & doubled that! & perhaps that the 1st was closely based upon the packaging of the original Accord 3dr, finally getting the performance engine upgrade most wanted... And that in Japan cheaper Integras were also available with basic Civic 1.5 & 1.6 carburetored engines.
As always, great work and amazing detail.
Great work sir! Now do the legend plz! ❤
15:14 “The oil pressure is low” in Spanish
1:36 Excuse me. I'm backing in here.
I had a 1988 Mercury Tracer (much-upgraded Mazda 323) which I loved. Could you do an item on the Tracer?
Reason they were thought boring: so many other makes copied their slippery designs. Similar to GM except a lot in-house for it, multi-marques adopting its Seville-inspired upright roof.
Stinger fam! 💙
We had an '85 El Camino
You didn't mention the 350 diesel engine they offered in the car. I had the 1984 Delta 88 with the diesel. Drove it across the country from Chicago to Los Angeles and while crossing the high desert in the middle of the night, I was able to achieve 40 mpg.
very unreliable cars
The new Integra is a nice car with too high of a price tag.
Can you do a video on the Nissan sx cars?
Had a 1991 LS and a 1994 LS and a 1997 LS
They should have put oval wheels on the Taurus too.
Good car but boring styling. The Millenia was a looker though!
The new one is ugly. Sagging rear, looks fat and bubbly with a long bulging hood. The 94 generation was best.
The 2024 Odyssey is ten inches wider, 30 inches longer than the original Chrysler minivans
I live in a city and still see a reasonable amount of generations 1 through 4 Integras around the area, including heavily developed suburbs. Most of them are cars that have been tuned and have those "fart can" exhausts.
The ford EXPLODER ☢️
Honda Del Sol.
